Do you know the "Rothschild" hotel below, The Five Arrows in Waddesdon, near Aylesbury?

We stayed there recently and found the hotel to be charming, the food to be splendid and the Rothschild wine to be "a refreshment of excellence"®. Small wonder then, that the Five Arrows Hotel was chosen Les Routiers Inn of the Year South and South East England 2003.

As written at the Bucks Free Press (Dine Like A Lord Of The Manor):

"The Five Arrows is still part of the Waddesdon Estate owned by Lord Rothschild, and is now run by Julian Worster and his cousin Robert Selbie. While the baron was inspired by 18th-century France, these two took their inspiration from the legendary food writer Elizabeth David, who became their friend.... Julian stated 'Elizabeth encouraged me never to compromise my standards, and never to stop exploring.'
And he never has.
Now the menu at The Five Arrows shows the fruits of this advice. It's a refreshingly innovative take on old favourites and the latest international partnership of flavours."

The Guardian Unlimited writes about The Five Arrows Hotel in The Inn Crowd:

The Five Arrows hotel is also the site of the Waddesdon Jazz Festival.
See you there.
